Spend some time to design the lowest inductance discharge path since the pulse must be nanosecond-wise, elsewhere the performance will drop, i'm not sure about ceramics, but you should give a try.

i'm not sure about ceramics, but you should give a try. maybe try doorknobs later now i'm making modifications on the sparkgap. i think is the most critical part of the laser I see your TEA page , what type of mirror you are using ?
