Almost have the VTTC done, but have two questions while waiting for the tube sockets and caps as well as another tube in the mail. How do I make sure the feedback coil is phased correctly? Does it matter? Also, can I use one resistor with wire wrapped around it (the choke) for two tubes since the plates are in parallel anyway? Its all coming together nicely... smile

You figure out the phasing by trial/error. If you get really small sparks and hot tubes reverse it.

You could use one, I never use them amazed

If the feedback and the primary are on the same form, and the bottom of the primary is connected to the positive of the power supply, the top of the feedback should be connected to the grids of the tubes, right? If the first pulse on the primary generates a pulse on the secondary, the negative side of that coil needs to go to the grid.If the feedback coil is supposed to put the tube out of conduction, the negative potential would be generated at the opposite side of the coil, correct? I don't know if this is right, so correct me if I'm wrong.

It depends on the winding direction too.

Its easy enough to try it one way, and if it doesnt oscillate, reverse it. You could try and reason through the operation and get it right the first time, might be fun to see if you really understand how it works wink. I have to admitt, im not completely clear on some of the finer details of the operation.
