Hi all, I decided to remake a few things of my coil.
Started in the base, the old base is that:
I designed a new base with 45x45cm and 8cm tall (the coolers height), and I will try to do my best at that base. I gonna show at FLISOL Salto here in Brazil (Flisol is Latin America Open Source Software Install Fest, I gonna make a presentation about OpenCores with FPGA and show the coil at coffe break)
What I done for now:
Pics here: Flickr: Project Source: Tumblr:
Also, I gonna make two VU, with colored high bright leds. One for measure the current, other for the audio modulation. Here is a video from the VU:
Also I have videos of the coil working at old base:
Normal Interrupter:
Audio Interrupter:
I post news soon :D
[UPDATED] 01/04/2011
Dual VU Photos:
Led Illumination for the Bridge:
My work done until now:
[Updated 31/05/2011] FINISHED!
After big problems, the coil is finnaly working good! The problem was: Secondary arcover melting turns, removed the turns and rewinded. Fixed turns:
Sparks:
One time, the spark got at IGBT Bridge and exploded everything:
But one side of the bridge was perfectly!
Changed much things since them. Added a 10uF cap to GDT cap. Made a 1:2:2 GDT, raised 5cm the secondary. Now I finished stabilized. Running at 220VAC Mains, about 250Apk primary with the IRG4PC50UD making 1.2M sparks
Video with the setup details:
And a audio modulated vÃdeo:
FF7 Fight Theme
FF7 Cid's Theme
Please comment :D
I wanna now if this is a good result for a Full-bridge of IRG4PC50UD

Not sure how you are doing the audio stuff but the star wars theme is flat. It was also out of tune with the other songs you played on it, most notably "The Scientist". Great looking coil!!

"The Scientist" was the first song that I made, I didnt corrected yet :P - Tomorrow I think I will receive one digital scope, and I am finishing my work at the coilbase. So I think this weekend I can test it :D

By flat note I mean, it is supposed to be a high C for example and you are playing a B. There are some notes that don't sound correct. Most noticably at :23 in final fantas. The high note in star wars too, da da da daaaa da The daaaa should be a semitone higher. Hope that helps you.
