They'd be good for getting reactions from people. Just wear them around. Carry a walkie-talkie and say things like, "I think we're approaching resonance," etc, for improved effect.

ROFL I once tried them on at my school, and I think about 10 people tried them on as well and they didn't want to give 'em back! They aren't really comfortable, though.

They would not work as binoculars do, then.
First time I saw them, I thought they were jeweler's glasses too, but indeed, as Ben says, they work like binoculars so can't be used for magnifying close objects.

I once tried them on at my school, and I think about 10 people tried them on as well and they didn't want to give 'em back! They aren't really comfortable, though.
