Tesla gas turbine

Is it possible to build a gas turbine engine utilizing the Tesla turbine design for the rotors? I.e. something similar to one of those gas turbines people often build from old turbochargers? Googling helps none, a bunch of over-unity bs.

Not sure about the tesla turbine, but i've build a turbocharger turbine....it was interesting but horribly, horribly scary.

I suppose it would be feasable, but it would probably be easier to use the normal turbo design... My loigc being that tesla turbines work best with denser fluids, you are proposing to use combustion products. They also require very tight tolerences (I have heard <.5mm to work), which is not only hard to produce and keep strait at high speeds (any slight imballlance and...), but will probably errode in contact with said combustion products.

yeah they need tight tolerances, but in the turbine world .5mm is HUGE. A tesla turbine is far easier to construct than a traditional turbine.

people have said many things about tesla turbines, but use some common sense. lift coefficients are an order of magnitude larger than skin friction coefficients. what does that say to you?
