alright quick question, i have 24 330V caps @ 120uF ea. now, if i would try to get 660v i could series two halves then paralell the halves to achive the result? 2 12 cap banks paralelled.

if im wrong please let me know it!

12 capacitors in parallel

in series with

12 capacitors in parallel.

Assuming they're photoflash capacitors
the leakage currents need to be balanced.
I suggest 1 mA per capacitor.
e.g. 12 capacitors in parallel = 12 mA
330V/12mA=27,500 Ohms, 3.96W
Use a 10W 27kOhm resistor across each bank of 12 capacitors.
(2 total)
or a 0.5W 330 kOhm resistor across EACH capacitor.

P.S. Be careful, such a bank can deliver enormous/lethal power.

Do as Sulaiman suggests.
Read this: http://www.oz.net/~coilgun/theory/capacitors2.htm
And this: http://wiki.4hv.org/index.php/Electrical_Safety

You also need to read the rules and adjust the picture in your signature accordingly.

im done with my small rant, and Bjørn your, and EastVoltResearch note were by far the nicest.
Jeez, Rupidust told me to go to hell...
