Hey ,

I want 2 make an ejecter seat project using the coil gun

W6w 20060326120154dda33670

the SCR parts in this circuit werent found at all

could u recommend any spare parts that could do the job well ?

Further more , could a simpler circuit do the job as well with a toy car and a toy seat ?

Any suggestions and help would be appriciated

[Edit: Fixed oversize picture]

Do you need 3 stages?

You can eliminate almost all of the circuitry if you only need one...

For the scr, just about any mid sized one will work :)

btw, you might want to show your source before a mod deletes the post.

i say go with an induction design, then you dont hae to fillle around with all the mechanical stuff pluss it would be shorter to make.
just get a photoflash charging circuit, make it smaller if you want. then use it to charge caps(that you took off the board) and use those to propel your seat. no real circuit needed, and only one stage. cheesey

I think Maz is sort of right. Reluctance coilguns (the ordinary kind) fire the projectile by sucking it into the coil and then quickly turning the magnetic field off, so letting it shoot out the other side. It might be tricky to mate that to an ejector seat. An induction gun always repels the projectile.

By the way, you posted an oversized image sponged from someone else's site without crediting it. And spelt "electrocuted" wrong. Beware the clue stick!

Bzzzt! Cluesticked again, buddy. =P

Have you thought about a small boost converter with a 555/TL494 and an SCR?

Wait a second. You want to build an ejector seat? amazed

Sounds neat. Though I think a radio controlled relay, releasing a spring could do the job better.

Well what kind of aircraft? How strong do you guess should it be? Cause I doubt, that you could build a small lightweight coilgun which can deliver a greater punch then a spring of same wheight and size.

Wait... do you mean an actual ejector seat?
As in, for use with a human being or yourself?
Any kind of electromagnetic launcher isn't going to work... spring loading neither. They use rockets on military seats for a reason... but this avenue of research is only going to get yourself killed.

If you mean for a model aircraft... then I agree with Madgyver, a spring is probably going to work out better for you., if only by the KISS principle.
