I wanted to try making a small high frequency coil using a Royer style driver so I decided to use a mini Dr. Pepper bottle as a start. I used some 30awg magnet wire to wind maybe 200 turns arround the center of the bottle. I cleaned the bottle with lighter fluid before winding to remove any residue from the sticker that was on the bottle. I then made a 2 + 2 turn primary to connect to my old ZVS flyback driver. I have no idea what frequency it runs at but it must be very high. I have gone up to 50vac unfiltered in to the driver and it gives about .5" corona on the output wire. For about an hour of work, this is a really cool coil and I hope to build a better royer driver for it soon. Perhaps if I get a real ground for it it will work better..
