I would like to build a medium sized qcw drsstc featuring a double full bridge of IRGP60B60PD1 IGBTs.
I was planning on running the coil at a lower peak current than what such a bridge would be able to handle(which should be around 300A) in order to be able to run the coil at an an higher bps.
I should be able to build the drsstc without many problems, the only thing I was doubtful about is the tank capacitor. I know mica capacitor are the best for this application but I would like to start with a cheaper solution(and maybe upgrade in the future). I was planning on using an mmc of 1.6kv 10nf capacitors(KEMET R76TI21004040J) arranged in 5 parallel strings of 10 series caps for a total of 16kv 10nF, is that going to handle the current?
Regarding the bus modulator, that is what is confusing me the most. I know zrghv uses two IRGP60B60PD1 in parallel as the buck switch and I was planning on doing the same but I would like the opinion someone which as enough experience: how much current would they be able to handle in an hard switched application like this one? Since I have a lot of rurg5060 diodes I was planning on using some of those in parallel in the buck. The hardest thing for me is to find a suitable core for the output filter, using a lot of E shaped cores seems like an expensive option so I would rather use a powdered iron core.
I'm ordering everything from a website where the biggest core they have is called FS-1RIN-225B-00 with an AL of 98nH and an Ae of 142.0 mm². The datasheet doesn't seem to talk about the maximum flux density that the core can handle but I calculated the flux density to be around 6 tesla(considering 35 turns for 120uH and an operating frequency of around 15khz at 300v) and I don't think it would be able to handle it.Can someone suggest me a good core than is available where I live(Italy)?
That is all for now, thanks in advance.

I'm noticing that no one is answering my question, please tell me why.
Do you think my question is dum, difficult to understand or anything like that? Please tell me so I can clarify my original question.

PS: I ended up buying a T300-2D core so I solved one of the problems.

I already knew the website but thanks anyway, I also found it very helpful.
The only thing I have built so far is the secondary with the topload, I will shoot some better pictures as soon as I can, I only have this one with a temporary primary which covers most of it(and it is a very bad photo anyway).

I will start making an half donout primary as soon as I figure out a way to calculate its inductance with femm .
I will also post some more details on the secondary coil.
