 		With the help of a microphone and this analyzer, I would like to record the noise of a running three-phase motor connected to a frequency converter.

The internal calibration signal (4 kHz rectangle) can be seen in the lower picture,
the upper picture shows the corresponding Fourier spectrum.

 		I think that you would learn a lot more if you

. use an ultrasonic probe or accelerometer
. analyze the voltage (e.g. Link2 ) and current (e.g. Link2 )

a simple ferrite ring current transformer will reveal all ....

My first experiments with the HP3561A I have done with a 15 $ microphone from Renkforce (100 Hz - 10 kHz).
The vowels A, E, I, O, U (logarithmic scale on the ordinate, abscissa frequency 0 Hz to 2 kHz).
