I was about to scrap this 8-amp 8-volt DC linear regulated power supply.

Then figured somebody might like the heatsink with a pair of classic power transistors:

Yours, with or without the big heavy section, for the cost of postage from California, USA.
I bet the two TO-3 packaged transistors have identical functions & simply share the load current.
Note the bifilar winding of transformer, and the square "diode-bridge" with only three terminals!
