The flea market season in Cupertino begins tomorrow, the second Saturday of a month between March and September or October. Link2 As luck would have it, weather forecasts predict a rare morning without rain. I'm planning to rent a space, for giving away or selling things that deserve better than e-wasting. Who can use some 15030 NST's?

I'm weary of continuous rain, but it stopped for 12 hours at flea market time.

I got rid of a ton of stuff.
Gone now is everything from this listing Link2 except for power resistors I chose to keep for myself. The last eight 24-V-DC fans, sans resistors, were taken at 4 for a dollar. I brought one 15 kV NST, non SGFP, and held out for $40. Took it home unsold. Not a good plan because I have about five others. It's not a good time for me to become a seller on ebay. Maybe craigslist.

Towards the end I bought a couple of things, occupying much less volume than what had been sold or given away. Looking for a cheap loudspeaker, the first specimen found was a 25 ohm (!) unit.

Two semi-high-voltage plastic capacitors, obviously intended for pulse duty (e.g. copper ribbon terminals!) called out to me.

How about a pocket size can crusher? The new caps can deliver enough joules to make a pathetic indentation. This morning I realized that the mismatched pair in series could store more energy, within V ratings, than they could in parallel. And would be better matched to work coils with a few turns.

Here we go again! The swap meet begins in about 3 hours, as dawn breaks for another warm sunny day in Cupertino. I won't be going to sell, but might try to sneak in some stuff to make a FREE pile in some vacant space.

The penultimate meet of 2016 comes next weekend. I'm planning to get a seller space & get rid of stuff. Come say hello if you're in the area.

In June I bought a couple of music box movements

and some EG&G triggered spark gaps, in modules with trigger transformers already wired up.

In July I bought a 14 volt DC generator for pedal-power experiments, for $5, and carried it home in a bicycle pannier. It will complement a 14 volt automobile alternator, in fact they have similar size pulleys for v-belts. The generator seems to have only two electrical terminals, so I don't know how its output voltage is regulated.
