Hi guys
Last night a found a small camera which was used in a security system. The camera has its own adapter so powering it wont be a problem. However there is a male bnc connector attached to it. I dont have a female connector but i was wondering how i should hook it up. Can i just hook it up to my tv/computer using normal coaxial cable? Do i need an adapter or something?

It is a normal 75ohm composite video out, you can use a passive adapter to get video into your TV's composite input. The signals are pretty low frequency (about 5MHz of bandwidth for NTSC) so you can be pretty sloppy with the wires before you run into trouble with signal degradation.
Security cameras use proper bnc connectors and impedance controlled wire since for the 10+ meter wire lengths needed you will start to get ghosting artifacts due to reflections from impedance mismatches associated with normal 'RCA' barrel plugs.
