Eh, Ill try that out for fun, see if there is any noticable differance. peltier shmeltier, Ill just put it outside for an hour... its already -35C anyway..
405nm diodes actually vary quite a bit. I had a 12X that lased at 408nm, and a PHR that lased at 401nm. The 12X was noticeably brighter, even at lower powers. You could drop that diode in a glass of distilled water, that's a nice way to heatsink it. Just make sure you clean the diode window afterwards.

wouldn't doing this with a C-mount as shown wreck the die if water got on it? (water will cause COD?) well, I dont have any C-mounts anyway, but was just wondering.
